Wegenkaart landkaart Alaska's Inside Passage | ITMB

The west coast of North America is so long that we have divided it into segments - the Central American and Mexican segments are shown on maps of those areas. We recently released our USA Pacific Coast Map, covering the segment between San Diego and Vancouver. This map completes the mapping of the Pacific Ocean coastline by mapping the routes followed by cruise ships and Alaska Ferries heading north from Seattle and Vancouver to Alaska. This is a double-sided map, with Vancouver Island and the coastline as far north as Prince Rupert on one side (with inset maps of Seattle, Victoria, and Vancouver)on side 1, and the coastline north to Glacier Bay and an onward inset map to Anchorage (including an inset map of the city) on the second side. As the actual routes followed by the numerous cruise lines vary, we can't show their actual sailing routes, but they generally follow the coastline within viewing distance of either the mainland or coastal islands, or both. We have included the normal ferry routes followed by both BC Ferries and Alaska Ferries in their network of watery trails joining coastal communities, and the large cruise ships follow much the same routes.

Legend Includes:
Roads by classification, International Boundaries, Provincial Boundaries, Railways, Mountain Peaks, Population Areas, Province Capitals, Major Cities, Cities, Provincial Parks, Lakes, Rivers, National Parks, Snowfields, Glaciers, Border Crossing, Airports, Airfields, Points of Interest, Viewpoints, Hotels and Accomodations, Day-Use Areas, Camping, Boat Launches, Fishing, Museums, Gas Stations, Universities, Skiing, Golf Courses, Hospitals and Medical Services, Mines, Passes, Campground RV, Hiking, Kayaking and much more

Wegenkaart landkaart British Columbia | ITMB

This is our eight printing of our most popular provincial map for Canada. As with previous versions, we have updated road changes and new bridges. BC is not changing particularly quickly at the moment, due to the economic recession, but tens of thousands of people continue to migrate to the province each year, and its population is expected to double over the next twenty years. Thanks to its enormous size, huge tracts of land have been set aside for wilderness preservation, and yet the province boasts a road and rail network that would be the envy of smaller countries. The scenery tends to be described in superlative terms. Since I live her, I'll avoid the cliches, and content myself by saying that not only is this map superlative, we've reduced the retail price, so it is much more affordable both in America and overseas. Printed on paper, double-sided; inset maps of Victoria and downtown Vancouver;

Wegenkaart landkaart 92G Lower Mainland British Columbia Richmond and New Westminster | ITMB

Topographic/Recreation Map 92G&92G2 and G3 - With the 2010 Winter Olympics bearing down on us, this very timely map presents a lovely regional map showing all of the Olympic venues (the Games are being held in Vancouver, Richmond, UBC, Whistler, and the Callaghan Valley – not just in Vancouver). The area of coverage is from Everett (just north of Seattle) in the USA to north of Pemberton, and from Victoria in the west to Chilliwack in the east on the one side, and a detailed 1:50,000 topo map of the Richmond/New Westminster/Surrey/Langley outer urban areas of Metro Vancouver. Both maps are Government of Canada NTS maps, overlaid with touristic and recreational information by ITMB, which holds the copyright on behalf of the Queen (I love being able to say that). The Lower Mainland portion is particularly useful, in that it includes the east coast of Vancouver Island, from Victoria to Nanaimo and west to French River, all of the Gulf Islands (Cdn) and the San Juan Islands (USA), detailed road information for the American portion of the region from just north of Seattle to the border, and, again, very detailed road information on the Canadian side all the way north to Whistler and beyond, including most of the Sunshine Coast, all of Garibaldi and Golden Ears Parks, and, of course, all of the Olympic Games venues. The Richmond to Langley side of the map consists of two 1:50,000 government topographic maps merged together to cover all of 92G2 and 92G3 areas. This won’t mean much to people outside of Canada, but all of Canada is divided into 13,500 topographic mapping areas, of which these are two. These exceptionally detailed survey maps show all roads, major buildings, ferry routes, geographical information, and neighbourhoods from the US border (49th Parallel to about 25th Ave in the City of Vancouver (49degrees/15minutes) and from the ocean to Maple Ridge/Langley. The map has been overlaid with touristic and recreational information, and updated to show recent rapid transit and bridge information. This is an excellent map for anyone coming to Vancouver for the Olympics, but is also a lovely long-term map of one of the most attractive areas of Canada; printed double-sided on durable ITM waterproof paper

Wegenkaart landkaart Vancouver's North Shore Hiking Trails Fraser Valley | ITMB

Our popular map showing the recreational hiking trails in the mountains within the urban area of Metro Vancouver, but outside of its urbanized limits, continues into its most recent printing with an additional government topo map on the reverse side showing the full extent of the mountainous expanse of the Coastal Range that comes right into Vancouver. We are truly blessed as a city to be located in a sheltered bay of the ocean, with towering mountains looking after us.

Trails cut by early settlers, by Boy Scouts, and by hiking enthusiasts, have been enjoyed for decades. I first mapped these trails in the mid-1980s, and we have kept the information as accurate and up to date as possible for more than two decades and six editions.

The addition of the regional map makes the map more useful to users, as it covers the Sunshine Coast, the mountains north of Whistler, and the wilderness roads throughout the entire region, as far east as Agassiz, which won’t mean much except to locals, but extends a hundred kilometers east of Vancouver.

Wegenkaart landkaart Wegenatlas Pan Americana North | ITMB

The Pan-American Highway was created by the USA to improve road communications within the Western Hemisphere post-WW2. The highway started at the Mexican border and eventually reached somewhere south of Santiago in Chile. It was a vote-buying gimmick by the Americans to fund allies, but it also created an essential 'spine' road through Central America to the Darien Gap and along the west coast of South America to the then-limits of Chile. Driving the Pan-Am has become a travel experience. More recently, the improvement in more northerly highways, such as the Dalton Highway from Fairbanks to Prudhoe Bay in Alaska, the paving of most of the Stewart Highway through British Columbia, and the tremendous improvement in highway infrastructure in Mexico over the past two decades, has made possible the long-awaited Panamericana Adventure Highway. Stretching from the Arctic Ocean at Prudhoe Bay south to the famous Alaska Highway, then east into Canada's Yukon, the Panamericana takes a westerly route along the coast and an easterly route through Edmonton and south to Texas. The western route is more interesting, in that much of it runs through pristine mountain wilderness. We have chosen the western route for this atlas, following the Pacific Coast as closely as possible through BC, Washington/Oregon/California to Tijuana. From here, the route can follow south through Baja California or head east and south along the eastern side of the Gulf of Colorado, past Mazatlan and Acapulco to join the original Pan-American at the Guatemala border. From Guatemala south to Panama, the Panamericana North (or Norte) is the original and well-maintained Pa-Am. The Darien Gap still prevents the North and South segments from joining, but this is more a political issue than a technical one. This is an epic atlas covering an epic journey. As often is the case with ITMB, this is another unique title of an interesting part of the world. We plan to do a South edition at a later date.

Wegenkaart landkaart Washington State British Columbia southwest | ITMB

This map hopes to accomplish two goals; first, it is a detailed road and points of interest map for Washington State and adds to our growing range of State covered in detail, and second, it combines that portion of Canada's BC accessible to Americans heading north. The map has two covers so can be marketed either as a USA map title or a Canadian title. The front side covers all of Washington State, with a bit of Oregon and Idaho, and has a decent-sized inset map of downtown Seattle.

The reverse side covers much-larger British Columbia - at least a portion of it, including all of Vancouver Island, all the roads from Vancouver eastwards to the Rockies and north to Kamloops, and hundreds of wilderness campsites in the interior. This side also includes insets of Victoria and downtown Vancouver. This map fills a gap in the travel map market in that it crosses an international border and provides benefit to those heading north without having to purchase a separate map. Of course, if they wanted more detail, ITM also publishes maps of Seattle, Vancouver, Whistler, and all of British Columbia!

Wegenatlas Travel Atlas Alaska Highway | ITMB

A5 boekvorm

This booklet is the same size as all other ITMB atlases and is designed to fit comfortably in a user's backpack, purse, or car door storage bin. The famous Alaska Highway of WW2 fame has been largely paved and straightened by now, but is still one of the paramount exploration adventures in the world and is far more accessible than the Karakoram or mid-Australia routes. The original highway, from Dawson Creek in northern British Columbia to close to Fairbanks, Alaska, has been supplemented by several off-shoots: the Dempster Highway leading to Inuvik, in Canada's Northwest Territories, the Dalton Highway, leading north to the high Arctic at Prudhoe Bay in Alaska, and the Stewart Highway leading south through the Coastal Mountains to Prince Rupert, BC are all closely integrated with the traditional Alaska Highway. All of these are shown in great detail in this atlas. Road conditions, distances, campgrounds, convenient hiking trails, heights of land, parks, and everything else that we could think of to make this booklet useful has been included. It has also been very attractively priced, which I hope is being noted. This is a light-weight and nicely-presented attempt to move mapping forwards into its bright future as value-added information of use to users and affordably priced. In spite of the resemblance, the person shown on the cover is not Lan.

Legend Includes:

Roads by classification,California and State highways, Museums, Waterfalls,Hospitals, Seaports, International and Domestic Airports, Ferry and much more
